Familial polyposis of the colon is a rare inheritant disease in which hundres of polyp develop

There is a marked tendency for these polyps to undergo malignant degeneration while the patient

Blood in the stool and darrhea are the important symptoms. Proctosigmoidoscopic examination
and roentgenological examination of the colon by the double contrast barium enema are invaluable
aids to diagnosis.
We experienced a case of familial polyposis which was treated by subtotal colectomy and ilerec
